Hello! My name is Dori Bartek. I am currently a junior at Ouachita Baptist University. Growing up in a big family meant plenty of nights and weekends were spent together, whether watching movies, enjoying nature, or most likely both. Both my family and my fiancé have been supportive of me, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have them by my side.

I am a communications student, meaning my favorite things are film and photography. Film became a pastime of mine because of the variety of genres and the number of films I watched growing up. My dad played a big part in my love for movies and creating them. My love and curiosity for the creation of movies have been duly satisfied by my time at Ouachita, because I got the amazing pleasure of working on a short film with the Humanities Department. I got the opportunity to be a producer and production designer for the film.
My mom inspired my desire to try photography. I’ve recently started doing more with photography cameras and taking a break from film cameras. A class I am in requires us to take photos of a specific thing, place, person, or concept every week. It has been super helpful for me in getting familiar with a camera and improving my beginner photography skills.

Although, both film and photography are big parts of my life, and I have been learning how to use and pursue them through my degree at Ouachita. But nothing could be bigger than my love for the Lord and the people in my life. I have the best friends and family in the world.
They have helped me through all the ups and downs of growing up, getting through high school, starting my college career, and preparing for married life. I could not have asked for a better family for the Lord to put me into, or better friends than the ones that are already such a huge part of my life.
Though the majority of my life has been spent in school of some shape or form, I know the Lord has great things planned for me. I plan to use the skills I have and am learning to better fulfill His will. I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given and the family and friends that have been with me throughout it all.
